Make shapes become invisible when they overlap?
This might be a rudimentary thing to know, but I can't seem to figure it out. How do you make it so a shape and its strokes become invisible when it overlaps another (any) shape-- and without using a mask? For example, if you wanted to have one shape go over another shape and you don't want the lines of the second shape to be seen through the first.

Around the forum, particularly when bending something like an arm, I've noticed that you can make it so that the lines of what is being overlapped become invisible so it doesn't look distorted in the bend. I think there's a way you can do that without layer or shape ordering. And if there isn't, it doesn't work for me.

Yeah, that's the bone set up I use and it works fine until I bend it too much. Let me give you a visual:

I followed all the necessary requirements in setting up the bones. Binding the correct points to the bones, creating the correct constraints, etc. But then this happens:

It seems if the edges of the overlapped layer go away, it wouldn't look like that. Which comes back to my dilemma of how to make those edges disappear when they become overlapped.

Seems to me that those rigs are too complicated for nothing.
Here is one I just made for a chubby leg

Okay, experimented a bit and came with a rig for a round knee
