Why the strange-looking holes in his legs? Or am I seeing it wrong?

The gradients don´t match up in the arms and hands.

Yes, now that you mention it, his beard looks like it is out of focus.

ok ive arranged the beard and the soft edge effect ,
now do somenoe have an idea about the leg problem .?
i mean the fact that the bone are confronting and creating holes ..

ive thought about splitting the leg into 2 layers ..is ther an ather solution ?
will it work if i reduce the bone strength ..?

thanks

You probably don´t have enough points in your legs and the bone strength is too strong somewhere.

The problem with the holes in the legs is that you have a shape that, when bent, overlaps itself. This creates a "loop" in the outline, and the resulting hole. To fix this, you should break the leg up into two fill shapes. Here's a tutorial that describes the problem and the fix (courtesy of Myles):

ok thanks !
ive followed the tuto but when i create a third bone for the elbow , the lower bone doesnt want t drive the layer anymore..
it doesnt matter for now

the only regret i haveis that now we can see the frontiere of shapes between the two parts of the leg brcause of the shaded effect ..

Now it works for me, too.
Before nothing happened and finally timed itself out.
Probably a server maintenance thing.

Interesting tutorial.

hi everybody !!

ive got a new problem with my old bearded man :s

i want to make him move on a cloud , the cloud is a image layer ..lets see:

Image

ive asignated bones to the background cloud, but still we dont feel the weight of the body on it , ive thought about creating a new cloud in foreground to hide the lack of ... weight? but this is not acceptable..

any idea? i know you will ;)
thanks a lot

Have you tried something like is described in Tutorial 3.2 constraints, section Angle Constraints?

Where you make the body movement effect the movement/flexing of the cloud?

mmh dont think i would work , it can lock the feet to a position ,but anyway, i think i have to make the cloud bend under the weight of the character .. its not the same thing.. i guess
maybe im wrong , ill try something like that

i cant understand how to work with a mask layer...?
i think it could help ,
u see, i think i can add a mask between (what does that mean? where exactly) the character and the cloud to make parts of the cloud move forward the feet, and hide them as if they dug the cloud .. as if you had your head on a pillow
...
hey, i post my file ;)
