animating group layer opacity

Post by funksmaname »

Am I having a brain fart? i can't work out a way to animate layer opacity (so all contents go from 0-100% without doing this to individual shape fills?! Surely this must be possible? I'm battling a deadline so a quick response is appreciated! :P

Works the same way as in any other layer:
- layer tab
- check "allow animated layer effects"
- set opacity to something not 100%
- go to other key
- set opacity to 100%

Shows up in render only, not in preview.

I have noticed that When You render as JPG/PNG/ then Group Opacity reflects child layers, but if you export as SWF then Group Opacity not affecting child layers, but if you mark obacity for each layer then it works.

I use visibility effects all the time. I'd really love it if 'allow animated layer effects' was the default and you didnt' have to check it all the time. It's just an extra step that I have to keep remembering to do.
