Paint bucket adding points

I'm drawing some shapes with maybe 20 points. I color them with the paint bucket and bam! suddenly they have 60 or more points. I undo, 20 points again. Paint bucket, bam! way more points. Can anyone tell me what's going on? Many thanks.

The first question I'd ask is: Do I have several identical shapes on top of each other?

Hi, Nina.
The Paint bucket works in two ways:

- If the line is closed and simple, it will use the same points to create the shape
- If the shape you want to create is more complex and not welded, then the software will try to guess and trace it, creating more points.

The shapes were closed. It's weird, it only seemed to happen on one particular layer. When I re-drew the shapes on another layer, it worked fine.

Then the same thing seemed to happen on yet another layer. I must be doing something... Maybe I'm accidentally making extra shapes where I think there's only one? I'm still pretty new to ASP, so I often do things by accident without having any idea what the heck happened.
