Bones don't move points

Post by 3deeguy »

When I click on a bone the correct points turn red but they don't move. My character has both layer and point binding bones so I can't figure out where I screwed up. I deleted a layer bone and replaced it with four point binding bones because now I want to control a thumb that presses a button.

Check bone strength.
If it is zero, check that points aren't influenced by any other bone.
If it is not zero check that any other bones haven't a strength of something tending to 'infinite' compared to the bone strength.

You can't bind a layer and have binded points in the same layer. If the vector layer is binded to a bone, all its points will move with that unique bone.

Try this, select the vector layer with the problem, go to
Bone>Release layer
then go to
Bone>Flexi-Bind layer

That should solve the problem.

PD: Many times is better to bind all the points to a bone instead of bind the entire layer, this way you can easily solve possible future problems.

Thank you. Clicking on Bone>Release Layer did the trick. That's interesting. It means when I delete a bone I have to clear that bone's properties also.
