Hi.
I'm looking for a good way to make the light from a tv to projects onto the character.
I tried a few thinks and the best solution i found was to make a circle with soft edges, bring the opacity to ~15 and change the colors randomly in the timelime to make the "moving scenes" effect.
It works ok but but not that good.
Do you have any ideas on how i could make it to look better?
Thanks.
Perhaps it would be more convincing if you add shadows as well.
When ever there is a bright light, shadows are inevitable. But not just for the character, background should also be shaded and illuminated. I think if you add those shadows and bright spots.. it would be more convincing. This said, bright and shaded shapes don`t have to be too precise and complex.
Masking would be my choice too, but I would use just blinking/flickering of the hole mask.
p.s.
I`ve just seen it`s a daylight scene. In that case why not just a flare around the tv set?
Yes it's a daylight scene but the curtains are a bit closed so i'll probably put some shadows (I also added a vignete so it has more contrast), small and barely noticeable. I think the idea of a flare around the tv will give a convincible effect.
Thank you very much, you solved my problem.
