Warping images for patterned clothes (and poss. texture too)

Have you come up with a good Moho trick? Need help solving an animation problem? Come on in.

Warping images for patterned clothes (and poss. texture too)

Okay, first I drew this pattern in Paintshop Pro:

Then I imported it into ASP and added bones, allowing it to be warped:

Then, using masking, I applied it to a character's clothing:

From there I just had to warp the image to fit her movements - you can see the result here:

It's not perfect (the pattern slips off-centre a couple of times), but it'd be interesting to see how else this trick could be used.

Cool tip.
The most interesting thing is how to setup the bones to make a good warp of the texture to achieve easily the desired movements.
Can you show us the bone linking and its strength for this particular case?

To be honest, I hardly ever use bones and the structure is pretty rudimentary. But here you go:

The two bones on top, pointing left and right, are connected to the upper middle bone; the bones down the sides are connected to the ones on top. Strength-wise, I think I used the default settings. That's pretty much it...

The girl was done entirely with point animation, so there's nothing really fancy involved in the turn.. was there anything about in particular you wanted to know about?
