Selecting Multiple Layers At One Time

Post by LittleFenris »

Its a standard feature on lots of programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc...and it just makes sense. Even if it only worked for reorganizing layers in the layers windows, thats fine. It doesn't need to work with the tools like layer translation and layer scaling and such. It just makes it much easier if you have a bunch of layers you need to move into a group layer all at once, or maybe you did a bunch of body parts and you want to drag a few into the head switch layer or group layer, and a few into the body layer, etc...It's really painful having to drag each layer into new folders one by one.

I second this!

Another issue is auto scrolling of the layer palette when dragging layers. Many times I have to drag layers twice because the palette is too long to get it there in one go. I need to drag it up half way... scroll the palette... drag it again... and not forget where I left it the first time (I've done this. It's like losing your car in a big parking lot).

So... if you have a bunch of layers to move... and the palette is long... it takes even longer to do it.
