Killing the Bone Confusion

Post by AlanPS »

When you are setting bone keyframes for say a lower leg or lower arm, I wish all keyframes other than that specific portion of the limb would disappear from the timeline, so I know that I am only moving, cutting, pasting, deleting the keyframes that apply to that specific portion of the limb.

It is so annoying to try to create cycles and adjust bone angle when keyframes that have nothing to do with what I'm adjusting are all in the way.

Some may suggest bone labels which would help but still, I don't want to see the thigh bone's position when I'm moving the calf bone, even if it is affected by the calf bone's movement.

Please do this- this is annoying the heck out of me! Thanks.

You can see my response for this problem in the Tips and Techniques area.

But anyway your confusion about the general keyframes and the others keyframes for the selected object (bone, point, shape) inspired me a new feature request that (if you don't mind) i will introduce in your thread.

I want to add a feature to the select point, select bone and select shape tools that enable the posibility of a checkbox that when it is checked then the objects (points, bones or shapes) that are keyframed in the current frame, are selected and unselected if it is uncheked. it would help a lot to know what objects are affected for a keyframe in a particular frame. (Also what objects are not affected by a keyframe)
For a animation file that is not done by the owner of the animation is very difficult to know if a object (bone, point or shape) is affected by the current keyframe or its movement, rotation or color change etc. is really dued to a interpolation result between two kwyframes.
