Misty walks

Post by Touched »

A sort of introduction, though I've been posting here for a a week or so, I haven't introduced myself or shown any work. I've just started using AS. Started with the demo about 2 weeks ago now, after seeing Greykid's samples, and ended up giving myself a X-mas present (got $50 off for being a Poser owner, as well). After going through the tutorials and poring over the sample files, I came here and started absorbing whatever I could. I'm still working my way through the subforums.

Anyway, here's a walk cycle of one of my characters. I animated most of it in Flash alone, but the skirt had been giving me trouble, and it was only through AS that I managed to finish the skirt. It's a subtle effect, though you should have seen the early attempts, where the skirt was flying all over the place like super rubber.

I have other animation in the works using various kinds of bone rigs and point animation, but nothing worth showing yet. After X-mas I should be able to show more.

Great drawing man!. This girl is lovely!!! ...Mmmm sexy...
You have achieved a very flexible and beleible character walking. Congratuulations!!

Only an issue. I think that if it is not done with AS/moho, then the post should be in Miscelaneus ChitChat instead of here. Only for consistency with the forum structutre, But anyway you're welcomed. :D
Merry X-mas!!

Glad you liked it, and as I said, I animated her skirt in AS, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it here.

Sorry. My enghish undestanding is a fried potato.

EDITED: So main work is done with Flash and the skirt "corrected" with AS, isn't it? How did you do that? Export import etc. I have not Flash so it is only curiosity.

Yes, I had tried animating the skirt 2 or 3 times in Flash, and it never came out looking right, and I had left it on the shelf until I got AS. I imported the skirt into AS, and I used dynamic bones to animate it. Then I exported the skirt to SWF and re-imported it into Flash, where I integrated it with the rest of the walking.
