Export wireframe
Hi, is there a way to export just the wireframe animation to make a "making of" of the animation ?
Wireframe does not exists for export options in AS. They are only a way to see all the drawings to make them visible in editing mode. If you refer to export construction curves they are only the skeleton for shapes (fill + outline) and are not rendered. In fact points and construction lines are not rendered and have no dimensions. (You zoom in or out and its size is the same)
You can check some options (uncheck antialiased edges, apply shapes and layer effects and check render at half dimensions and frame rate and reduced particles) in export window to make it faster and show it as the "making off".
If you want to strictly export the construction curves ...Perhaps some script guru could help you?

Re: Export wireframe
I did this wireframe capture with SnapZ Pro on a Mac.grosbouff wrote:Hi, is there a way to export just the wireframe animation to make a "making of" of the animation ?

wireframe
Here's another way to do that. Take a movie of whatever you are doing. The LCD screens allow that without flipping. Then import into a movie edit program. (iMovie) for me here. Then export into whatever format is appropriate for your media.
I think this is how Artfx does his site for showing his draw lessons.
Take a look here and see what I did. In this example I am tracing over an image I imported into Tracing Image.

I don't use Snapz Pro X, because it messes with the kernel and I got kernel panics all over the place. Since I deinstalled it, I haven't a kernel panic (knock on wood). Better use IShowU if you have Mac OS X 10.4 or better. It seems pro video users prefer that over Snapz Pro X.
rplate, by "flipping", do you mean the flickering that you get if you try to shoot a CRT monitor with a video camera? You can eliminate that flicker by temporarily setting the monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz, the same refresh rate as the camera (for NTSC video, anyway). It'll be noticeably flickery to the naked eye on the monitor, but on camera it should be rock solid. Then just change it back after you're done. LCD, as you said, doesn't have this refresh rate problem.
I've never heard of IShowU and went and tried the trail download. As you can see it puts a watermark on top of the display. I was impressed so far. Thanks for the tip.Rasheed wrote:I don't use Snapz Pro X, because it messes with the kernel and I got kernel panics all over the place. Here's what I did with it. Touched it up and compressed the file for streaming in FinalCut Express
click here to see my test.
This is not an add for the software it's just a show and tell of what Rasheed uses. Thanks Rasheed. See above for the link.
Whoa! I tested the link and I'll be back after I fix it. Way to big!
I came back and it's a better stream now.
Nice feature request
I think that even if it's something you can find workarounds for, it's a nice feature request...
Not only for 'Making of' videos but also because Wireframe and Bones should be faster to render, and if you're working with several animators or with a animation director, would be nice to render all in wireframe for previewing all the parts together and see if there's something to fix or change.
