OK, update---- I enrolled in Dr.Eddie's Moho course and will be making comments as it progresses.
So far---- Intro and lesson one.
I am one skeptical guy so far but must give credit for very quick replies on work submitted. Seems very supportive and critical at the same time.

Excellent! Do keep us posted. I was curious about Dr. Eddie's course. Just getting started, so it seemed like it would be a good way of getting up to speed.

I don't want to undermine just comment based on my own teaching experiences. Using the Moho tutorials in conjunction with this course is the recommended procedure by Dr. Eddie.
This is a very logical first step. He also uses a conversational approach with the use of adobe pdf files. So Adobe Reader is a must.
He encourages experimenting and gives out some of his own "pipe line with moho work ethics"

I downloaded my second lesson in the 6 week series. It is a continuation of the first project using what I learned from that. The second uses new concepts and more interaction with the interface. The pdf files that accompany the lesson files are replete with illustrations.
I mentioned that one can contact Dr.Eddie through the use of e-mail only through eclecticacademy web site. Each student has his/her name and password.
OK off to complete the second lesson

What I am finding is that I need a focus. Since I am a hobbyist and do not need to earn money from this I tend to jump, skip, and in general behave like an 8th grade student ( really no offense ment). With this very cheap cost course I am actually beginning to focus and learn some things.
So far so good. If you need a good basic set of tutorials.
Lesson 3 coming up. I will post my homework (when I finish it)

Downloaded lesson 3. Each lesson is available one week proceeding the last. In this case on Sunday. #3 does not contain all the art work provided by Dr. Eddie. This time you are expected to create your own background and props with step by step instructions by him. He does provide a reference image. This lesson introduces basic bones.

I stated last entry that the lessons build on each other and have logical sequences with enough redundancy to reenforce rather than bore.
Please remember these are my opinions and I have a hobbyists' attitude.

Lesson 4. A continuation of last lesson. More bone work and raising and lowering shapes. As stated before Dr.Eddie is very quick at dealing with questions and feedback on work in progress. Yep, $20 is looking like a good investment.
My hat is off to all you employed in the animation field especially you independents! Animation is hard (Martin Hash) Dedication and being able to work with others is primary.
So, the structured lessons from Dr.Eddie are good for beginners but probably not for those of you in the work arena. However with that said, these lessons are applicable to anyone who wants to have additional resources beyond the inline help and tutorials which come with it.
(I wonder what all this means with the Anime Studio Professional version about to hit the street?)

Thanks for the continuing updates, ingie! Sounds like this might be something worth exploring and I would be interested in it for the same reasons as you - to get some structure during the learning process.

Hopefully this course will continue to be available and will perhaps even expand as Anime Studio grows.

The only thing that "bothered" me was that the Dr. himself never came back to tell us more or to respond to our questions beyond the initial announcement.

There were some who possibly made him feel he was intruding with a pitch since the onslaught of trash postings and bots. He SEEMS genuine from the interactions I have had. Who knows?

Lesson 5. Downloaded from eclecticacademy the lesson files using my password and checked the discussion area for any new posts. Not a lot of discussion on this course. It may not have a lot of students(my guess).
What I am finding as I progress through the lessons is Fazek's scripts for the universal tool etc is invaluable! They really speed things up.
I have now formed the opinion that this course for Moho basics is the equivalent of an advanced HighSchool course without the annoyance of High School Students. (I taught in the public schools for 30+years)
To reiterate, I need a focus and this basic course seems to have been able to do just that. The twenty dollars although not a lot of money is also a motivation to complete.
Dr. Eddie seem to have a full plate as I have been researching and he is involved in many of the online forums for the art centered applications both 2-d and 3-d. Whether or not this has any significance I don't know.
