I'm new to the forum so I hope my upload worked. If it did you can see that I'm on frame Zero and using the select shape tool (Q) but I have no option to join shapes.
I installed a script and now I can't use liquid shaeps! How can I fix this?

I installed a script and now I can't use liquid shaeps! How can I fix this?
So I am wanting to make a symmetrical rig and got a script to mirror points and it works great but now I can't use liquid shapes to unify vectors the option to do so is just gone. Is there a way to reset my script folder?

if you installed a third party "select shape" tool in your custom directory - just delete it and restart moho. If that's not it, there are other things to try....
Re: I installed a script and now I can't use liquid shaeps! How can I fix this?
If the Mirror Points script is the one DKWRoot, installing it should not have any effect on the Liquid Shapes. I use it from time to time, and I can still use Liquid Shapes.
The issue may be related to another script, but I'm wondering if you just have an invalid shape for using Liquid Shapes. Can you use Liquid Shapes in another project using different shapes?
If the problem is script-related, create a folder inside the Tools folder in your Custom Content Folder, and drag all your third-party scripts into it. If you like, name the folder Disabled or something like that...the name doesn't matter.
Now restart Moho or press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+L. This reloads the tools, which in this case, Moho will load only the default tools.
If the problem goes away, then it must be related to one of the scripts in the 'Disabled' folder. Now you can systematically drag each tool back into the main folder, reload the tool, and check if it's the culprit. Continue until you find the troublesome tool(s) and get rid of them.
If the problem persists without any third-party tools installed, then you know the problem is with your installation of Moho itself. At this point, I would deactivate Moho, remove it, reinstall it, and then reactivate it.
BTW, if you installed the script to the program folder instead of your Custom Content folder, that could also be the problem. In this case, do the deactivation, removal thing, check for any leftovers that didn't get removed (probably the stuff interfering with the program,) then reinstall and reactivate.
Hope this helps.

By the way, for the arm stripes, if you continue to have problems, you might consider using a simple mask instead of Liquid Shapes.
Liquid Shapes is a very cool feature, but it generates new geometry for every frame, and, depending on how complex the rest of the puppet/rig is, that could affect rig performance. Masking, on the other hand, is much simpler as it doesn't need to generate new geometry.
When you get the Liquid Shapes setup working for your character and you're satisfied with it, I wouldn't worry about this too much. It's just something to be aware of in case things start to slow down, or you run into a limitation of Liquid Shapes, and all you really need is basic masking.

Oh! This made me think of a possible culprit. Wes has a toolset called Stacked Shape Tools, which comes in two parts: a Create Shape mod and a Select Shape mod. It can be found here...hayasidist wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 12:56 pm if you installed a third party "select shape" tool in your custom directory....

If the OP installed this package, the easy fix may be to remove only the Select Shape part. This should allow Moho to load the native Select Shape tool instead, and you can continue to use the custom Create Shape tool. (I use Wes' Create Shape mod all the time because it can create stacked shapes.) Use the 'disabled' folder trick mentioned earlier if you don't wish to delete the script permanently.
If you really need the Select Shape mod, a better fix is to edit the tool to load as a different tool, so it doesn't replace the native tool. I've done this with a few tool mods because I need them, but I also want to keep the native versions to use their newer features...um, you know, like Liquid Shapes.

Hope this helps.

Hi sorry for the late reply I did figure out the issue on my own but I didn't know that liquid shapes was so performance heavy! I was getting really long preview render times and had no idea why. Thank you for letting me know about that I will revise my rig if it becomes a problem! Thank you so much for the detailed explanations <3Greenlaw wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 6:07 pmOh! Re: I installed a script and now I can't use liquid shaeps! How can I fix this?
Cool! I’m glad you figured it out!
Yeah, Liquid Shapes (LS) is an amazing feature, but, the key to its magic is that it generates brand new shapes for every frame, which can get processor intensive. When LS is being used to simulate a masking effect, sometimes it’s better to stick with a Layer Mask because it’s technically much simpler. (For the computer, anyway.)
BTW, I’m planning a tutorials about Liquid Shapes and Masking. Look for the announcements in all the usual places.
