Keyframe in camera depth of field?

Post by marciohmota »

Hello everyone! Is it possible to create keyframes for the depth of field of the moho camera? I would like to activate the depth of field and at the same time move the camera closer and further away from the scene, but when I move the camera I can't keep the focus on the correct object, getting blurred in the wrong place. I haven't figured out how to solve this dilemma, because working directly with the blur of each layer would be complicated, given the amount of elements in the scene.

I had that problem in my music video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KERj9nfEvkk

The scene with the girl on the grass and the track in into the city are done with the same setup. It's basically a stack of layers all with different Z values, put into a group, then moving the camera along Z into it. The girl is always at the same distance to the camera, it's the only layer that moves. I experimented with the different settings of distance and field depth until I was satisfied.

So the real trick is: keep the distance between main object (you want to keep in focus) and camera constant, and move everythning else relatively to that.

Good technique, I'll try it here. Congratulations on the video clip, the relationship between memory, time and the flow of life is very interesting, it brings feelings and reflections about our moment here in this world. Thanks!
