I imagine I must be missing something as I'm new to Moho but here goes. So lately I've been having problems where I would create a simple shape either using the addpoint tool or even "pencil" it in, however when I use the shape selector tool it simply won't give me the red "mesh" indicating it is now fill-able with color. This is driving me nuts when it does occur, sometimes even for an object as simple as a circle
also, I keep trying to think in terms of photoshop, is there a "color dropper" tool, where you want to match an exact color of an object with another's?

Hopefully you mean the Create Shape tool rather than the Select Shape tool.Alsmithee wrote:So lately I've been having problems where I would create a simple shape either using the addpoint tool or even "pencil" it in, however when I use the shape selector tool it simply won't give me the red "mesh" indicating it is now fill-able with color.
To add a fill shape, your curve geometry needs to be a closed loop. You need to drag the last point over some other point (often the last point in the loop)and (if you don't have Auto-weld or Auto-close turned on) hit the Spacebar to weld the 2 points together.
Do Tutorial 2.1 again if you need a revision on welding.
It's probably more helpful to think in terms of Illustrator rather than Photoshop (although admittedly I haven't used either myself).Alsmithee wrote:also, I keep trying to think in terms of photoshop, is there a "color dropper" tool, where you want to match an exact color of an object with another's?
Select a fill shape with the Select Shape tool, hit the Copy button on the Styles window, then use that to set the fill of the next object.
Or you could create a Style, and use that on both shapes.

Sometimes I have found that any points other than points that create a closed shape that are part of the create shape selection will prevent the shape from "filling".
It is odd for me... and I have not narrowed it down exactly why this happens. Usually this is not a problem since I deselect the "extra" points and can create the filled shape fine.
This will occur with shapes like... knees... or elbows... where I connect in extra lines for creases etc at the joints. Sometimes I can select the entire mesh and create one shape... sometimes I must create the closed shape only and create a separate shape for those "crease lines".
I am positive there is a repeatable logical reason for this... I just haven't figured it out yet.
