Inconsistencies with smart dial and mainline
My trial period is up and I was unable to find a solution for a problem. I had set up a smart dial for a character's mouth. I made a few changes and after that the mainline did not recognize the changes. I removed all key frames from the mouth channel only to find a small amount of tweening occurred. When I went into the eye's smart action the mouth moved there as it did in the mainline. How is there movement with no key frames? The few bones I used had 0 bone strength, so there was no outside influence. Any ideas?

A lot of things could be happening. If you upload the project file we can tell you. You can just share a link to the file using any cloud storage like google drive, dropbox or onedrive.
Re: Inconsistencies with smart dial and mainline
Yes, you should upload the project.
The solution is probably simple but there's not enough information in your description to make a guess. For example, "I had set up a smart dial for a character's mouth. I made a few changes and after that the mainline did not recognize the changes," doesn't say anything about the animation techniques or the type of artwork your using.
Including better troubleshooting info will help in figuring this out, and posting the project file itself is even more useful. You can leave out anything unnecessary to showing the problem if you like.
Hope this helps.

Re: Inconsistencies with smart dial and mainline
Thanks for the replies. I'm sure it was something simple, but I encountered the problem only minutes before the trial period ended, so I have nothing to post. I will say it was a small project, a head only. I was working with vector layers, parts shaped in Moho. Eyes, pupils and lids grouped and masked and the mouth and teeth grouped and masked. Smart dials for the eyes and mouth each. I've been working with Toon Boom and know it well, but I'm really impressed by Moho's rigging. Despite having to learn a new program Moho is drawing me in.

Cool, hope you'll stick around!Walkingshadow wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 9:46 pm I've been working with Toon Boom and know it well, but I'm really impressed by Moho's rigging. Despite having to learn a new program Moho is drawing me in.
Where I work, we use several animation packages including Moho and Toon Boom Harmony, and sometimes I'll combine elements I create from each program in the same scene. In a nutshell, I find Moho has better puppet rigging & animation tools and Harmony has better drawing & FBF animation tools. I tend to prefer Moho because of the types of animation I'm asked to do, but both are great programs in their own ways.
