Anyone know why the gun renders inside out even though it looks good in the preview - one is the render one is the preview window

Right click on the image and open in new tab...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Ahhh....thanks jahnocli. Probably a basic question but are all your surface poly's facing outwards? What are you modelling in?
EDIT: Can you post the model of the gun so we can test it?
Cheers

Hi benny,
The secret is in the z layer settings. This sometimes occurs in Lightwave if you have the camera too close to an object you can see the interior mesh. In Moho, adjust your z layer settings and your render will be a lot cleaner.
See screenshots below:
And the render:
Hope that helps!

Yeah, what DK said. Plus you can change the outlines by changing the stroke width in the style window, when a 3D layer is selected.

Hi Wes,
To get the color/surface material settings on the gun did you just place the .mtl file in the same folder as the .obj?

You have to remove "copy" from the mtl name, so the obj file can find the file name it's expecting. But yes, same folder as obj file.

Hi benny,
Not getting any rendering probs here when I zoom out and rotate the gun using the same z layer settings of 3. See below.
I just zoomed camera out and rotated the gun.
Cheers

Have you tried making the gun that small in frame? It works fine anywhere about 50% of the window and up.
