layers not rendering

Hey guys,

In the latest version on a mac pro with Nvidia drivers. I'm exporting my animation and some layers aren't showing up when i try to render with an alpha. Any idea why not?

Make sure that you don't have layer rendering off in the proprieties panel. Also if the layers are full or total alpha, they aren't going to render. Alpha can be keyed on an off on the time line for a slow fade. But if keys are close it's like making the layer invisible on the time line.

Are you using Layer Comps? If so, be sure your Layer Comps are up to date. If you've added or deleted layers since you originally created the Layer Comps, the settings might not be what you think. A quick way to check is to Expose each Layer Comp to see which layers are currently associated with it.

This trips me up from time to time. I've finally gotten to where if a rendered layer is missing data or just plain wrong, outdated Layer Comps is the first thing I check, and usually I'm right.

Somehow the masks got mixed up. I reset them and it was fine.
