Hi all,
So in the past i have been animating using flash as my main tool. I got rather proficient at using it, and manipulating it to my needs. But a recent project got me stuck...and quite frankly, annoyed, as flash just wasn’t capable of doing it...well it was...but very difficultly. So then i stumbled onto MOHO, and so far, i am amazed at this program. I don’t know where it had been hiding, but i wish i discovered it earlier! So now i just have a few questions on how to achieve, what i want to achieve.
1. The animation has different characters, each with different voice over. Each line is a separate .wav file. As far as i can gather, i can only do one line per file, is this true? Unless i use a sound editor to link them all together and do one scene.
2. Is there any option like a library within MOHO?
3. On a switch layer, is it possible to have it cycle automatically through each layer as the animation plays.
4. Is it better to draw the characters in say Flash or Photoshop and then import the image and bone it, or better to draw it in MOHO.
5. Is it better to have the head and the body on separate layers, or all the one image. Does it depend on the type of animation? Say for cutout style animations, which would be best?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'll try to help with the things I feel comfortable with!
3. Take a look at ACTIONS. There's a tutorial on using them which you can access using the HELP menu item.
4. Opinions differ. Moho's drawing tools are...adequate. They are optimised for animation, not drawing. If you want better drawing capabilities, draw in another program which can export .ai files. If you've already got Flash, use that. A recent tip in this forum was to just export line drawings from Flash to Moho, as this produces fewer spline points. But be prepared for a lot of tweaking with imports.
5. I would use separate layers, and the "broken apart" technique used in the tutorials.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
I think I can handle number 1:
1. Use your existing separate wave files for the lip synching (Switch file data) then combine them into one wave file for the soundtrack. You'll still have to tweak the individual switch keyframes for perfection, but this will do most of the work for you.
As for number 2, the closest equivalent (I think) is the ability to import an object from another animation. You could create your own "library" animation that holds a bunch of stuff, and import from that. (It's not that hard). For a character, you should probably make sure it's all in one group file, so that the whole of it is imported as one. Hope that makes sense.

2-As far as I can see, libraries are nor that important in moho considering the workflow. We established libraries of 1000-2000 parts in flash, and this used to slow down the computer a lot.
Since there are no bones, often complete animated legs, arms had to be kept kept in libraries.
In moho you can design your character, include extras in switch layers and im/export the whole stuff as moho objects, so you simply do not have to care very much for searching the left leg of character #12 between tons of stuff.
