I remember being able to do that, even by just selecting and hitting backspace.
I've just been fighting with a shape, trying to simplify it but each time I delete a point (by selecting, or "delete edge"), it takes out the fill. My question is, What determines if the point I'm about to delete will suppress the fill?
Thanks

Re: Delete points without taking off the fill?
This is related to an issue you mentioned in another post:
You can delete individual points, just as long as it is not an endpoint that is part of the shape. Deleting curve segments is more touchy, and yes, the delete edge tool use to handle this better. It tries to delete "stray branches" and is somewhat successful, but holding alt to delete one segment always kills the shapes, even if the segment is not part of the shape. (If I find the time, I may see about fixing this tool.)
Both of these have to do with endpoints. I explain these a bit here: http://www.kelleytown.com/forum/animato ... 1912#16585 You cannot change the curvature of endpoints, as curvature requires a continuous curve through the point (i.e. non-endpoint).Sometimes I notice bugs in my shapes:
- A point will not curve. I have to erase it, and close the shape again

Re: Delete points without taking off the fill?
It all becomes clear. Very interesting. I must have missed that in the manual. Thanks
By the way, (cause I've been dying to express it somewhere). The new freehand tool is amazing. First time I'll actually get to use freehand in program. This really adds a new dimension to asp. A more precise "reduce point" tool would be the icing on the cake

The manual doesn't explain anything about endpoints, so you didn't miss anything.
