I do like PD Pro. I use it quite a lot for cleaning up animation as it's so easy to paint on a series of frames. The new 3D features have unexpectedly proved quite useful too. The paints and brushes are some of the best and most realistic I've used.
Re: Project Dogwaffle Howler v9 out..
Just a quick plug for PD Howler again as I've just found it very useful once more. In this new version you can composite two video's together.
I had a shot where a character had to step into a space pod. I know people here will tell me I could have set up masking in AS but the pod was a still from 3D software and I'd done the scene without thinking about how I would do the masking. Plus, it would have had to be an animated mask so probably just as quick to do this.
I rendered the scene with the character and again without. I loaded the scene with the character into PD Pro and then loaded the scene without to the Animation swap Buffer (so it was beneath the other animation). I used a brush set to Rubthrough and painted out the characters legs as they went inside the pod. It's a standard procedure for painting out animation rigs in stop-motion etc. I thought people may not realise you can do this sort of thing in PD Pro.

This is the resulting shot...

Yeah it's come on leaps and bounds since I discovered it many years ago. It's quite unusual in its feature list allowing for some quite unique art/animation.The developers seem really open to suggestions as well.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
Re: Project Dogwaffle Howler v9 out..
Version 10 is out - $27 for the "cyber weekend" (Thanksgiving, I guess). Never heard of this program before looking at this thread, looks interesting. I'm downloading the trial version right now. http://squirreldome.com/Cart.htm
Edit: After testing out the basic functions, I succumbed. The program seems intuitive and straightforward. So I'll skip the next Clip Paint Studio update this time around. Can't say anything about the advanced Howler functions yet, but the 3D perspective guides look promising.
Biggest drawback so far: One guy keeps smacking his lips during his tutorials - it drives me up the wall.
