Change Enter key to apply?

I have a second monitor. On that monitor i have Layer Settings open all the time. But when i change something on a layer using that window and press Enter key to apply the changes, the window closes. And i don't want to have to click apply with the mouse all the time.
So is it possible to change the Enter key to only apply changes (like clicking apply with the mouse) instead of applying changes and the closing the window? And if it's possible, then how do i do it?

Unfortunately I tried and tried and found no modifier key combo that would click the apply button. It think that would be the best solution for this in the future.

In the meantime, you could use some type of key mapping system app that would allow you to set a key combo to apply when that window has focus. The issue would be possible keyboard shortcut conflicts.
