Playback slows down after Sound looping?

Post by Hopper200456 »

Hey guys.
It just isn't a day without a stupid question from Hopper.

So, I gotta keep this quick, but,
After I added a few (3) sound files to loop for 84 frames the playback for those frames slowed WAY down. I know it won't be that way once it's rendered, but I can't tell if the sounds are matching up with the animation, or if the sounds are good. Anyway to fix this or work around it?

Thanks again!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, My computer is an Alienware M51x and can handle newly released video games with the graphics turned up to max. :P

Always keep it simple. Why use 3 loops of identical length when you could mixdown them to one?

It's three different sounds playing at the same time. Is there anyway to merge them? :O

Merge them in an outside program.

That's what I'd figured I'd have to do. Any free/cheap programs to recommend?

Audacity vote here.
This is the most amazing powerful FREE program for audio editing. It is truly as powerful as many very expensive applications. It also has a bunch of cool filters for doing whatever you need. I did a project that had a TON of sound effects with many many tracks of layered sounds all with changes in speed and pitch, filters, layering etc. I had an Audactity file with like 20 tracks of audio. It is a real work horse program and the fact it's FREE just sort of blows your mind. Of course now, I use commercial products but back in the day when you don't have the money, Audacity is awesome. The only thing it doesn't have is any way to load a movie file with audio to do syncing. I have used it to do complete "audio" tracks with all the mixing, music, dialog, sound effects, etc, then load the final audio into Anime Studio.

Anime Studio does have the ability to add sound layers and it works very well for most things, in my opinion it is best suited for lip syncing and maybe specific sound effect syncing that is time reliant. I believe that other programs for really complex or multi track sound mixing are a better idea.

There is a trick you could try using Anime Studio to "mix" multiple tracks into one. Just render out the video with the 3 audio tracks. Then bring it in as a video or extract the sound from it. More trouble than it's worth probably. Easier to use Audacity.

I remember being told to use Audicity on an older computer, and downloading it, but never using it much. But I'll defiantly check it out! Thanks so much for the help, dudes!

EDIT: Actually, while we're on the subject, is there any way to turn the volume of the sounds down, and/or make them fade out within Anime Studio?

EDIT's EDIT: Nevermind, found out how.
