Masking & Anti-aliasing, and a bones question...

Post by psvfx »

Hi,
I'm new to Anime Studio Pro 9 and have a few questions I couldn't find an answer for while searching for it. So far it looks like really cool software, but I'm just getting used to it - so please forgive me if these questions are obvious.

1) When I try to use masking on layers it seems to disable anti-aliasing (which I have on in the Display Settings at the bottom of the screen) for the layer that has masking on it. It even ruins it for renders too, not just in the viewport. How can I fix this? Obviously, masking is super important in order for me to create nice rigs to animate with.

2) Is it possible using Smartbones (or something else) to make a controller that controls animation via the translation of the smartbone - and not its rotation? I mean I understand and have seen tutorials where rotating a controller bone can move stuff - but I'd like to create a controller bone I can move (relative to its parent) which then controls something - as opposed to rotating that controller? i.e. I'm happy to use rotating controller bones to blink a character or whatever - but some motions like say the jaw while chewing might be better suited to moving the bone around to control the jaw going in circles? Other rigging in 3D apps I'm used to can do this with null points. Is this possible with Anime Studio Pro bones?

thanks for your help! :)
