Reversing Bones (Anime Studio 8)

Post by BrerFox »

If I've created a bone layer and animated it, is there a way to reverse the horizontal orientation of the bones? That's to say, if I've made an animation that goes from left to right, can I make the animation go from right to left without having to start over from scratch? Thanks in advance.

Well, the easiest solution would be to simply flip the layer. I do this all the time when I need to. Of course if the character or animation has anything that would be noticeable when flipped this might not work. In the cases where I do this I can simply change layers that might effect the final result with a flipped layer.

I can assure you there is no easy way to reverse the bones and all the animation. Layer flipping is the best way.

p.s. I will have to see if I can add this bone reversal to my save and load bone animations scripts... this is a cool idea.

Thank you so much! That was exactly what I was looking for. Your solution worked perfectly. Two seconds to adjust the horizontal coordinates of the layer after the flip, is preferable to 2 hours of trying to recreate something. There are a lot of applications I have in mind for this, and it will be an enormous time saver.

Thanks again.
