Thanks man, appreciate it. I'm working on part 3 (of 4) right now. I've got some new voices coming as well.

That was very funny Yosemite, I liked the style too.
Sure, some of the animation could be tweaked, but overall I thought it was great stuff.
Story, gags and overall look are really the most important thing.

Thanks Chucky.

I'm trying to create a show in the lines of Family Guy/South Park -- marketing-wise -- so yes, for better or worse, the animation sort of has to take a back seat. I'm just one person doing everything. As you said, I have to focus on the story/style/comedic gags.

It pains me at times because my background is in the more traditional FBF style of animation, but I just don't have the time to incorporate that into the project. Anime Studio is great because it gives me enough control to get the general idea across in a relatively quick time frame -- although it still takes forever, lol.

Also, I love your work. I was just looking at your website again. Some of your conceptual art is just amazing...

And your resume is admirable.

Thanks Yosemite, :D
In regards to South Park , FG etc. it is great that these shows opened up an accepted market for animated adult satire like 'buddies' .
Before these shows broke the mainstream any 'serious' animated humour  was considered from a very narrow point of view as just inappropriate and bad taste.

'Buddies' is that and so much more :P, it's more like Breaking Bad than the Fintstones , All the best with it YS, funny stuff. :D

I remember those days of "inappropriate" animations, lol.

On a side note, I still can't comprehend how an episode of family guy costs "two million dollars" and "Takes over six months" to make. Seth McFarland's words, not mine.

Oh, and I just have to say, I LOVE Breaking Bad. Never have I been so hooked on a show. Walter White is an iconic character if there ever was one.

Funny, I don't really like FG too much I find it generally too wallpapery ( like the Simpsons) but I did turn on to see an unusual opening sequence which broke that mould and certainly would have swallowed an enormous budget, where the Peter fights a giants chicken which was amazing and spectacular, like fifteen big budget movies action sequences all rolled together. Every aspect of that sequence was mind blowing, it included a chicken and Peter cloning machine that caused reproduction fights where hundreds of clones kicked ass across the screen, they also stumbled into a rocket launch and ended up fighting on a space station and then crashing to earth and fighting on a submarine or ship or SOMETHING ( can't remember ). Of course everything they touched exploded. I was amazed, oh it's also hilarious.

oh wait here's a link , If anyone hasn't seen this go HD/fullscreen it's worth it.

I believe there's two other fights like this , I haven't seen them/ yet .

That's a bit high, but most tv animation runs in the 6 figures range per episode:
Animation Budget History

Something to consider when budgeting or freelancing.

I'm not a big FG fan either (though I have a lot of respect and admiration for Macfarlane), but yeah, those Peter vs. Chicken sequences are hilaaaaarious. I had to watch that one again since you posted it. It's just so over the top, you can't help but laugh the whole way through. However, from an animator's point of view, it's exhausting to watch, lol.

Obviously, I get how a sequence like that would be very expensive, but the show, as you know, is generally much more tame than that, so the 2 million budget seemed a bit extreme. Hell, pay me 2 million, I'll grab you and few other guys on here and we'll do an episode and split the money :)

Maybe Seth pays himself a million dollars to do the voices :?

That's such a cool chart. Thanks Neeters. Too bad they don't keep it updated, but it's great looking over the history of animation budgets. It shows that the FG pilot budget was 50,000 dollars. That's what SM said FOX gave him to do the pilot. And that it was very little for what he had to do. He animated the whole thing himself.

I'm a bit confused by the two different budgets, however. There's one number, then another with an asterisk.
