Hello,
I'm looking for thoughts as creating believable turning tires on a vehicle I'm making going down a road (side view) Currently, the truck tires are perfectly round when they rotate--- which makes the truck look like it's not really on the road. I'm thinking that if the tires flatten a bit at the road/contact area, it would look more believable.
I'm open to thoughts as to how to achieve this without too much hassle.
Just one of those little touches to make the project look better.

Re: Believable tires
A simple solution is to duplicate the road layer and drag that layer above the truck layer. Now translate that new layer down to where it hides the bottom of the tire; hide edges/center line on the new road layer.
Re: Believable tires
Ah, yes-- very simple and looks convincing. many thanks
Re: Believable tires
Put a light shadow under the car, and a really dark shadow under each wheel. If you watch life footage you'll notice that there's not much to be seen under a car - it's mostly black.
Re: Believable tires
Yes, I have the shadow already-- and I also added the "road" pieces to fatten the wheels slightly and added a 1px softedge to help the blend.
many thanks
