what version? newb question

Post by Idk Probly »

i'm reading up on the threads here and i want to make sure i'm not reading the wrong ones. i just bought Anime Studio 5 (i know, it's old but it's still really cool and WAY cheap). The tutorials that came with it are all clear as to which functions are for Pro only, but i wonder if there are functions discussed here that only apply to more recent versions of AS. Is there any way to check what version people are using when they post tips, or do they apply to all versions?

Version 5 is REALLY old. It's so old I can't remember what features it doesn't have. Many of the exciting features in the current version STARTED with v6, Version 5 was still, not much different than the original Moho.

If you could post a screen shot of the Anime Studio 5 interface that might help refresh my memory.

Don't let people browbeat you into doing something you don't want. Version 5.6 was the last really stable Anime Studio version -- some people on the forum still use ver. 5.6 to develop stuff on before they finalise work in another version. I've still got version 5.6 --- it's very long in the tooth, I admit, but it does everything I want. I guess you don't miss what you never had. I'm just a hobbyist, and I don't want to fork out hundreds of dollars for a few nice things like physics that I don't want. I guess I will have to upgrade sometime soon (!), but it won't be because another forum member tells me how good the latest version is.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
