Halo's around objects
I'm having an annoying problem where I have a layer, for example a face or hand - that is colored with a normal skin tone with a black outline. Then, whenever my character is in front of a dark background, the skin color seems to go outside it's boundaries to make this halo glow look around the black outline. The weirdest thing is that it does't happen to all layers. For instance, I have my hand in one position in a switch layer and it has the glow, then when I switch to a different position it's gone and looks fine. I've checked and made sure all layer effects and styles are set to "plain" and "none." I can't figure out what is unique about the layers that have the glow where others don't. Any ideas?

Can you post one actual image of that halo effect? If you post the file as well it would be great.Any ideas?

have you checked Layer Blending Mode is "normal" in the layers that cause this effect? (in the General tab in layer settings)?

Blending mode is on normal. I have a great image as an example, but I'm not sure how to post it here on the forum

Maybe you can get to the picture here? If this works and you can see it, notice how the face and one hand has the halo, whereas the neck and other hand don't. I have no idea what the difference might be among those layers that would cause that. Side note - it only shows up on a render, not in AS when animating.

You need to upload that image on some webspace, then link to it.

Hopefully that does it. Again, you should be able to see the halo's around the face and the hand on the left, but the layers for the neck and hand on the right look fine. Any ideas?
Thanks

See it. Looks like you have several lines on top of each other.
Duplicate the head layer. Erase all shapes (but not the points!). Carefully create a new shape with correct outline colour, and oly once! (Happens to me as well that I accidentially create new shapes (U) instead of select an existingone (Q)) Render on dark BG to see result.

Awesome! That completely fixed the problem. I'm so glad I can fix it that way rather than having to trash it and start over! Thanks slowtiger
