I am currently using Anime Studio Pro 8 to do my short animation. I am trying to import PSD file which consists of quite a few layers, my characters are all from PSD with layers. Everything was alright when I imported all the layers and work on my animation.
then came the problem, i move my files from my computer to my thumbdrive, all my imported PSD images are gone.( those with layers that I imported)
How do I relink or reattach those images to their original position. :/

Re: How to relink images from PSD?
AS doesn't import the PSD, just link to it externally, and I think it does it in relation to the file save (so if its saved in the same folder as the PSD, you have to put the PSD and the AS file on the thumbdrive). Try to re-establish the folder relationship between the files, and/or I think you can re-select the file in the layer options (double click a layer) - you may have to do this for all layers...
sorry if any of this info is wrong, i don't work with PSDs much, but some answer is better than no answer

Your answer is dead on... the files are referenced not incorporated... you need a folder containing your image files and AS file in a like location.
If your .anme file was in an folder as well as your image files you would be ok if you copy the ENTIRE folder... hope this is clear.

Re: How to relink images from PSD?
What the other guys are saying is right Noctis, it's kind of a pain but anime studio only links files to the original location of psd or image files when they are first created. I found out this the hard way when I simply moved my psd files into a different folder on my computer. NOW anytime I open up an AS file that I've used I have to "relink" the pictures to make them show up properly over and over again! It's a pain because you can't embed images or incorporate images into a AS file if you need to relink your psd files just do the following.
1. Open your document
2. Double click on the missing image layers that are giving you trouble.
3. Click on the last tab on the top of the pop up window labeled "image"
4. Click the "source image," button in the image settings and navigate to your current image; For example in your case, your jump drive and just select the proper file that's missing.
This should relink your pictures correctly and they should show up again! Keep in mind though, if you may have to relink them again and again if you don't create a folder with all of your image assets like psd files from the beginning and keep them in their original location! Hope this helps!!!!!
