Well, I've just completed a 1.5 minute short for the Cartoon Network at the studio where I work. Using Moho, of course. It would have probably gone faster using Flash, but where's the fun in that? I've been pestering the people I work with to look into Moho, but it took this demonstration to convince them, and now they'll be ordering a copy and maybe using it on future projects. I'm hoping they won't be disappointed by the slowness of Moho (compared to Flash, which can play back animations at full speed and doesn't have to render them out to a video file.)

The cartoon I made is supposed to air as part of some new program that leads into the Adult Swim time slot, but I'm not sure when it will be on or what it's called.

At the place where I work they like to do everything as cheap and fast as possible. Unfortunately, with Moho it can take a long time to render (maybe my animation was just too complex). But for at least some projects I'm hoping they'll adopt it. They were very impressed with the overall quality.

i know this problem.
moho is a really time-consuming program (i let the movies render overnight or when i'm out).

but, as u just said, it provides a lovely quality :D

Is there any chance so i can view what u created someaday?

Well, I was going to let people know when my Moho short is going to be playing on Cartoon Network, but it looks like they gave me the wrong date because I was just told by some people at work that it aired last Sunday. So this is probably too late. However, in case they repeat it, I wanted to let everyone know that it's called "Surely You Joust" and it airs as part of the "Sunday Pants" program (Sunday 9:30 PM eastern time, U.S.) If you're watching "Sunday Pants" tomorrow (Oct. 30) or any other time and you see a cartoon about two knights jousting, that's my animation and it was done with Moho.

Sorry about that.

Having said that, Flash 8 possibly has the same effects now, possibly more, i dunno!

And i do agree with MoHo's slowness.

Just played around with the Flash 8 demo and it has some nice effects, but not the same as Moho. I noticed in particular the drop shadow doesn't work well.

It does allow you to do a more realistic motion blur because you can adjust the blur along the x and y coordinates independently (Moho just seems to blur in all directions equally). However, I'm not a big fan of motion blur anyway, esp. in 2D animation, and Moho's version (which is subtle) works just fine for me.

Flash 8 does give you a lot of control over the motion graph and the ease in/ease out values, which is something I really hope to see in a future version of Moho.

Of course, Flash also doesn't have particles (there are probably action script behaviors for that) or animated noise or good shape tweening, etc.
