weld points

i imported a pic, but trace image only traces part of it. i tried to draw in the missing lines, but i have no idea how to connect the line. i used the space bar to weld points, but it just starts the timeline, and does nothing to the drawing. im trying to import a picture i drew for a background, but i cant get it to import properly. i have watched plenty of vids, but none really address my problems. im not even sure why only some of my lines trace, even though all the lines are the same width. i am using debut 8, if that matters.

can anyone help? thanks

Either use the Translate Points (T) Tool...
Drag one point over another, then hit the spacebar...

Or, check Auto-weld (top toolbar)...
With the Translate Points Tool drag one point over another, until you see a green circle,
Then release the mouse...
