Has anyone been successful in getting an obj 3d object into a masking group? I've been trying different ways, but I can't seem to get it to work. Is it possible to do masking with a 3d obj? If so, what are the special tricks?
Thanks,
jorgy
Masking group with a 3d obj

I did do it a while back. The movie file is still here so you can see

I messed up when I moved the folder and not the 3D object. The file is still online if you want to look at the settings. This did work -just the 3D object and the obj textures I didn't save in the right place. Maybe this will at least give you an idea. If not and no one else posts a sample in a day or so I'll make another object and try to post a simple example -let me know.
Here's the file (without the 3D object)
