Locating moved files in a project - AS Pro 8

Post by jjwinks »

So, I'm about to completely move to a new computer. I have pictures and patterns for fills from projects all over my computer. Is there a way to designate a new path for a file within an Anime Studio Project so I don't have to spend time redoing things on my unfinished work?

I believe that's what the gather media feature does. Read up on it in the help manual. I haven't tried it myself, so I could be wrong.

Just tried it. you create a new folder somewhere you can find it easily, open your project in AS. and choose the gather media feature. you will be asked to save, choose the folder you created and save there. it will make a copy of all associated files and place them there in that folder. all the files in there will have the appropriate links to the project. it's actually a nice feature. you can place all your projects into that folder that way and then move it to the new computer.

Jonbo.... you're da bomb.com.

After your initial post, I went through and got all my stuff in shape. It is a great feature... works like a champ.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for this post. I moved my .anme file into a folder and found out it couldn't find the images and I couldn't copy the original movements into the newly imported images. This post saved most of my hair and a little of my sanity. Thank You!!! :D
