I have been trying to animate a 3d robot in AS and so far I am happy with the results. But when I translate the layer the 3D gets really wide and distorted. I can scale the layer to simulate distance but if i move the layer left or right the shapes get really wide.
I will try and post a vid of what I mean tonight.

I've run into the same thing Steve. The camera in AS is really best suited to 2-d work even though it can be manipulated in 3-d space. I think Patty makes a good point. I find rendering my 3-d figures into quicktime/png/millions of colors+ movies makes it easier to work with them without distortion. I've just started playing with some of the camera scripts here on the forum last night and they might work for your application.
Thanks for the advice guys. I have Blender but I really never learned how to use it.
Synth came up with a great way to make 3D buildings in AS and you can add texture and it will be on all 4 sides and roof so I want to do the robot in AS also.
I think what I will have to do is animate the robot in the middle of the screen and have it walk in place and do all his motions then render it and bring it back as MOV.
