yes , image layers can be rigged with bones but can it can take a bit of work to get a usable rigg. i think it might be better to draw out the bird shape and then use the image texture fill effect to fill the shape with the photo of the bird. now when you rigg bones they will have the ability to bind points on the shape giving you better control over how the image warps.

Thank You for your reply. I'm creating a video that shows motion from still images for a project. I'm actually using butterflies for one sequence. I was doing everything frame by frame before this. See next post

I really like your idea about texture fill effect to fill the shape with the photo of the bird. I'm not to sure how to do that.

off to the right side in the style palet you'll see where it says effect 1 and effect 2, click on either and choose image texture. you'll get a sub menu where you can choose an image. the image may need to be scaled/cropped to fit the texture window prior to import.

Edge glow

This scene is at night. Can I add a edge glow to the exterior of the texture shape so that the wings look like they are glowing?

Try using the halo effect on the stroke. you might have to play with the blur and offset settings to get the effect you want.

Here's a different example of this effect. After animating the butterfly, I duplicated the butterfly layer, I removed the image texture and filling the shape and stroke a light green color. I used the soft edge effect on both the fill and stroke with the blur set up at 50. I then scaled the shape up and then set the opacity to 30. In the video the "glow" layer overlays the original layer, but if you want maybe a crisper image you can move the"glow" layer under the other.

Works really well.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Here's an updated version. This time I used the motion blur and noisy fill and outline options. I had them also in the first video but I used the default settings and they didn't translate in the vid.

Thanks for everything, especially the Youtube videos. I'm still new to Anime Studio Pro 7 so your samples are a real timesaver.
