I'm trying to do spotlights.

Wondering how to accomplish a certain animation task? Ask here.

Everything is going well, I'd just like to know if it's possible to 'anchor' one end of the light to the ground. I've got a bone anchoring it to the light fixture, and the celling, but when I manipulate it, the light breaks off the floor.

Okay. When you turn a spotlight on and swing it around facing the ground, the light just doesn't 'break off' in midair, does it?

Make the part of the light that hits the ground controlled by a separate bone, or (possibly even better) animate the ground-hitting points directly after swinging it around using your bone setup.

Alternatively, try doing something with masking, and use the outline of where the light hits the ground as part of the mask. This just means you'd have to manually animate the mask rather than the points hitting the ground.

Regards, Myles.
