Does the video appear if you export the animation? What happens if you press the "Play" button?

Does this happen if you create a brand new project and import the video into it?

If you create a vector layer in front of the video layer, and put a black circle on the vector layer, can you see the black circle when you play/export?

Can you play the video clip in a different program on your system?

What is the size of the clip (in pixels), and what is the size of your project (in pixels)?

What operating system and version of Anime Studio are you using?

Just some questions to narrow it down.

Hmmmm, I'm a 6.1 user and I don't even have an AVI codec on my system, so I don't have any more suggestions...maybe Smith Micro technical support can help.

Good luck!

Have you tried to import it to Virtualdub and then saving as old avi then try to import to AS?

Also, Virtualdub is good about fixing errors that sometimes sneak into a vid. Usaually when you 1st import to Virtualdub and there is a problem you will get a message.
