Need help - Lower Shape

Hi guys
I startet yesterday to learn Anime Studio Pro 5.
Im following an online Tutorial from jotoonkid - here the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kunLdMztRqc&NR=1

Its a very helpfull Turtorial but i habe one problem.
Id like to hide the legs from the Basic Charakters, but it wont work.
Here a picture from Basic Charakter in Render-Mode...:

I tried with Lower Shape, but it doesent work...
Can somebody help me or give some advice...

Lower Shape button only is available when the shape is selected by the Select Shape tool. Also maybe you need to press that button several times to se the leg below the pants because there can be other shapes in between.
Try it with a simple sample test file (two overlaping shapes) and once learned the basics use it in your character.
