Truly infantile story and characters, but excellent art direction. Beautiful stylistic touches and a winning use of color. I bit the bullet and watched it twice just to enjoy the backgrounds, FX, and colors.
A Google search reveals that this series is the result of a worldwide franchise based upon these characters created in Korea. Their aggressive marketing paid off with rapidly growing brand loyalty in Europe, China, and South America, leading to a deal with a US producer.
For what it's worth--I don't have TV, remember?--I learned about this because it was linked in a throw-away posting on a local newspaper blog.[/url]
