Workaround for Splotchy and Spots effects

Post by Darramouss »

Hey there. You may all know this already but I've found a way to utilise splotchy and spots effects in ASP6.

Open up new ASP5.6 project and create a splotchy style and a spots style. Save and then open in ASP6. From there you can just apply the styles to any shape you want. You even have the ability to change the options for each effect.

If you want to have different variations of the splotchy or spots effects you'll need a different style for each variation. I've found the easiest way to do this is to go in to the style you want to replicate and create a new style. The old style is copied in the the new style and you can then make any alteration you desire.

Oh wow, I hadn't noticed that they'd taken the Splotchy effect out. Now why would they do that? The Splotchy effect is, in fact, one of the effects I use the most. I'm not too happy about this; I'll have to write a letter requesting that it be put back in.

Thanks for the workaround, though, Darramouss. It'll help a lot until this is corrected.

They removed it apparently because it took a long time to render and could be easily replaced with textures.
