Now Read This! (DOCUMENTARY)

Post by spoooze! »

Hey guys,

Here's what I've been working on for the last two months or so.

Just letting you know that Nethery-Ramsey has released our latest movie onto our website entitled: Now Read This!

http://www.nranimation.com/nowreadthis.htm

The movie contains three animated segments, one at the beginning, one in the middle, and one at the end. They were all voiced by Brad Ramsey and Mark Niedermann. The animation on the first and last segments were all done by me but I had help from Mark Niedermann, whom I am training up as an animator, on the middle segment. He animated most of the Judge in that scene.

No, for those who don't know what I look like, I am not the guy in front of the camera. That's David Ives, the guy I was making this with (see the trivia below).

I did all of the filming and editing in this. I prefer to be behind the camera at all times :P

Keep in mind that this is the first time I've ever done a documentary before so be kind

-----

Summary from the website:

Just how important is reading to college students? What do they read? Do they like reading? Who are their favorite authors?
We'll answer all these questions and we journey into the mind of the modern college student in this new documentary from Nethery-Ramsey Productions, hosted by David Ives and directed by James Nethery. This film features in-depth interviews with both college students as well as professors, plus some hilarious animated sketches from the masterminds behind The Average Show and NRA (Nethery-Ramsey Animators).

A bit of trivia on the movie:

-Now Read This was originally made and shown as a film for a Student Success class group project at Valencia Community College (where the majority of the film takes place) but the film shown in the class was actually different then the film shown on the website as it was cut down to about 35 minutes due to time constraints (the time limit for the presentation was 45 minutes).

-The animated sequences in this film are based around Joe from Nethery-Ramsey's still-running animated series: The Average Joe Show.

-Nethery-Ramsey's first "feature length" film and longest film (55 minutes) to date (as of November 23, 2008).

-Nethery-Ramsey's first documentary type film and James Nethery's first experience making a documentary.

-The film was shot in only a little over 3 days but it took several weeks to get the editing post-production finished.

-This is the first Nethery-Ramsey film where Mark Niedermann has received animation and voiced credit. He voiced and animated most of "the Judge" in the courtroom animated scene about half-way through the film.
