Posing character bones

Post by unkledunkle »

I just spent a little time rigging a "character" of mine and I find it really annoying when posing the figure in"z" (manipulate bones) mode because the strength halo that surrounds the bone. I want to be-able to see the bones but not the halo. Is it possible?

You probably don't want to "pose" the character in frame 0 (which is the only frame you can see the bone strength). Frame 0 is more of a reference frame for just having the character put together properly.

On any other frame it shouldn't be an issue.

If you use the Manipulate Bones tool on frame zero, the bone rotations are not "saved". If you use that tool on frame zero it is like "testing" the rig. Any changes made are not saved or keyed. However, if you use that tool on any other frame it will key bone rotation and you won't see the bone strength envelope.

Thanks. I guess I was just a little anxious to test out the rig and didn't realize that the strength indicators would not be visible in other frames.
