Character animation - Malevo

Post by Vilma »

I tried out some character animation - well sort of. This is a mean little character named Malevo. I was thinking of creating a twin brother for him with small changes.

Still learning ASP and having fun.. :-)

Hurray! I love ASP. :)

Wow. Don't know what kind of story you could tell with a character with that pre-defined emotion, but it moves great. Especially the secondary motion of that skirt (?) is well done.

Hm. They often say "that must have been my Evil Twin". What about two evil twins? An evil twin blaming his evil twin for everything? Hey, there's potential ...

Thanks slowiger :) I still feel a bit off when it comes to bones so the skirt (don't know what else to call it) is all made with point to point animation.

Haha.. indeed.
Actually - I had something similar in mind. Evil brothers making pranks and avenging the misdeeds.

Yeah you seem to have a knack for secondary motion. Nice turning as well.

I like the little subtle movements of the mouth when he turns. The secondary motion is good, but I think the "skirt" is delayed just a little too long when he does his first little turn (to his right). But otherwise it's pretty sweet!

Thanks to all for comments and feedback. :)
I will try make it better in next animation. Adding his evil twin brother will be interesting - I've never animated two characters and their interactions.

What? This one is NOT the evil twin?!? Hey, that's actually a pretty good premise for a show - a character who, no matter what he tries, is always out-eviled by his twin brother.

I like the secondary motion of the skirt too, but I would see what it looks like with just one more subtle oscillation. At the moment it looks like it stops slightly too abruptly for material.
