The CommanderBond.net podcast

Post by Mister Asterix »

I’ve begun using Anime Studio for my animated segments within the CommanderBond.net Podcast, the longest running James Bond podcast on the ’Net.

You can get information about the latest CBn Podcast here or download it directly (it’s quite large. 204Mb.)

In the podcast there are three animated sequences. The largest one comes right at the beginning at the 14 second mark. This segment lasts about a minute thirty and is almost all Anime Studio. I created this in essentially six different chunks using Papagayo for the lip-syncing, scaling for the perspective movement, and animated noise to help the feeling of motion in the background.

The second segment—at the 4:36 mark—is a redo of a very simple skydiving animation I did in Photoshop for the last podcast but using Anime Studio I added the cat for this month’s episode. This segment runs a bit over three minutes. This was simply a study in using bones on the cat. If I had it to do again I’d try using bone dynamics rather than moving all the bones one-by-one.

The last segment is a very short segment at the 17:30 mark. This segment was my first Anime Studio venture outside of tests.

I’d appreciate any feedback you guys have. I’ve learned quite a lot on Anime Studio from doing these segments and I do see some mistakes I made such as floating trees and ‘drifting’.
