I'm trying to fill a complex shape similar to that on the manual page 197-198 but it doesn't work for me. No matter which points I have selected, in only will fill the original shape... not the new curve that has been welded to it.
I use the SELECT POINTS tool to select all the points of either shape (including the points in common) and then select the SELECT SHAPE or CREATE SHAPE tool to try to fill the contents or the entire out boundary (minus the shared points) to try to fill it all but it still will only fill the original shape.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Are you sure the new points got welded to the original shape? Try using lasso mode and circle around one of shapes and the shared points and see if you get the checkered pattern and then test it on the other shape then test it on the whole thing making sure you hold shift down so you can deselect the points on the line that runes through the middle.

Got it! After I selected the points and selected the CREATE SHAPE tool, I neglected to hit the CREATE SHAPE button in the bar at the top. After I did that, it worked perfectly. I have a long time Illustrator background... this program has some very different operating methods. Thanks for your help.sbtamu wrote:Are you sure the new points got welded to the original shape?
