Lock Bone only tries to lock a bone. Alas, sometimes it can and sometimes it can't.
Fossilize Bone, however, would absolutely, totally 100% keep a bone from moving--no matter what.
Fossilize: when lockin' a bone just won't cut it.

I agree, I can't fully get the locked bone behavior. Something should be changed here. I think walk cycle is the most common example when we need lock bone feature.

I agree, I like the way it works now but it would be nice to have the option of making the bone properly stay fixed in place.
