I would do like this :
1- Lip synch for each mouth and character in separate AS project. (char1, char2, char3 etc...). Not need to animate camera. Not need to have HD resolution so. ASP would give good result in real time.
2- Finalize in a big ASP project by importing each "anime studio object" (char1, char2 etc...)
Collapse them in group layer" with their sound file attached and just move the groups on the sequencer. Then adjust position and camera. May be ASP don't play in real time but so you're sure that each lip sync is staying synchronized.
Take a look at my video "BAND AID"

I've made 14 separate ASP projects. Each project between 50 to 150Mo ! ASP can't play in real time... I have to finalize in editing software (Vegas).
So, I confirm PAPAGAYO works on leopard 10.5 : http://www.lostmarble.com/papagayo/index.shtml
