I wasn't in the mood to install any 3D software so I said why don't I make 3D objects in ASP. I started small with the ladder and that went well so I tackled the fire escape. Turns out since all the parts are just strokes except for the stairs it was done quicker than modeling in a 3D program.
I'm getting really comfortable using ASP but it took me a long time to know what it can and can't do. I think I started to get serious about learning to use AS since the summer of '08.

Oh such negativity.
You could make a geodesic dome if you have the patience and know the math to calculate all the angles. Since everything can be rotated in 3D space you just pivot and rotate each piece with layer tools. The shortcoming is you can't bind parts form different layers so you just eyeball it using the Orbit tool and Side By Side views with the help of the X, Y, Z, numbers for alignment.
I like a touch of 3D myself, but with a much more handdrawn look, not as slick as your example. Usually I'm quite comfortable with shifting 2D panes with a multiplane effect. For more complex work I started to learn Blender now, but only the parts where it combines imported drawings into a 3D world.
Looks nice. That seems like a pretty complex 3D scene to create using only ASP. Inspiring.

Can you explain that a little slowtiger? Do you us it to import textured 3d objects to ASP? I have Blender and the manual, but I wasn't able to get my 3D objects into ASP with the textures from Blender.
