If you've installed it, you'll see that you can modify pitch and rate as well as loading a wide range of voices .... although only about 4 or 5 are actually much use for truly understandable speech.
If you REALLY want to tweak things, look at the PROPERTIES button for the voices. It's to the right of the Rate and Pitch sliders. This takes you into a PRONUNCIATION EDITOR where you can play with the pronunciation of indiviidual words - it's a bit like playing with phonetics in code form. There is a list of 'Phonemes supported by this speech synthesizer'. If you get into this, you'll be playing for
hours.
One tip - always make sure you keep all the text highlighted when you export to wav. It's easy to end up converting just a single word.
Also, it pays to break text into new lines or to use commas and full stops to play with the way Balabolka processes text into speech. Some of the alternative skins are also nice but, of course, they don't affect the way the program works.
For an example of Balabolka in use by myself, try this ...

For another example by someone else (not especially politically correct, but good voices), try this ...

If you search for Balabolka in Youtube, you'll find other examples.
Once, I saw myself in a mirror.
Or did I?
